Class Discussion: In "Encountering the Essay," Atwan presents us with several points of discussion for what and essay is and is not. Watch the video clip below. Would you consider this an essay? Why or why not? How do the concepts presented in this video clip relate to elements of this class? Or, how could you imagine they could? Where do you think the genre of essay, and writing in general, is headed? What evidence do we have of that direction?
